Hello:

The problem is with Microsoft Outlook Express. The
version is 6.00.2800.1123. I have a Pentium 4 1.9GHZ
with 256k of RAM. The problem occurs when creating or
replying to an email. When typing in text for
example: "Microsoft Outlook Express is extremely slow
when deleting text. Using the delete key to delete text
is ultra slow". Now if I want to delete the second
sentence, I place the cursor in front of "Now" and press
delete. Normally the text would be deleted at a rapid
rate. Not in my case, you need to press delete, one
character is deleted, then you press delete again and a
second character is deleted. If you hold the delete key
down the text is not rapidly deleted. It is ultra slow.
I have noticed that if you leave the email open that you
are working on and exit out of Microsoft Express, the
delete process works properly.

Your assistance would be appreciated very much. If you
need additional information, please let me know.

Thank You,

Mark Muschko

Hi, Mark -

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:

See Performance Problems on this page. And if you are storing mail in OE
default folders, create your own and move the mail.
