Hi daved,

Did you reboot and try downloading your E-mails again, before doing
anything drastic? Sometimes a reboot fixes things.

How are you connected to the Internet? Have you tested your Internet
connection, by browsing to different sites?

What exactly happens?

It may be that the inbox, not Outlook Express, is corrupted. There's an
important distinction.

Try making a new identity in Outlook Express, and re-creating the accounts
there. If you can send and recieve mail properly there, that's a very
large clue that the inbox is the problem. If you want to keep using this
identity, set it as the default, and go to File, Import, and import the
messages from the other identity.

If you want to keep your existing Outlook Express identity, switch back to
it and identify the message store folder (this is under Tools, Options,
Maintenance, Store Folder). Exit OE and navigate to that folder. Copy
the file inbox.dbx to another location you can easily find, then rename the
original (just in case), perhaps to inbox.sav.

Restart Outlook Express, and the inbox will be re-created. Use the Import
utility to bring in the messages from the folder you've copied the inbox to.

thanks for the help. i compacted my outlook express folders, then restarted
outlook express. i was able to then access my email and download to the
inbox.
i have lost everything that was sitting in my inbox prior to this problem,
but at least my email in now working.

i was using the following link to work on this problem when your reply
arrived.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx
it put me back in buisness.
