outlook express attachments

I'm not able to open any attachments that come to my
outlook express inbox. They're there ok, but when I click
to open them or save them, nothing happens (apart from a
small 'freeze').
By accessing the email differently, the note comes
up: "OE removed access to the following unsafe
attachments in your mail...". Is there anyway that I can
get around this and open attachments that I know should
be ok?
I'm running Outlook Express 6 and Windows XP.
Any suggestions anyone?

Go to tools choose options. Click on the security tab and uncheck do not
allow attachements to be opened

Yes, try clicking Tools, then Options, then the tab called Security, read
the first section.
Second box (not circle) is likely checked.
Restart Outlook Express after you uncheck that, reverting back to Express 5
security levels and test.
If this does not work, please continue this string in the OutlookExpress
newsgroups as this group is for MSOutlook 97-2003.
