Outlook Express As A Newsreader?

M

Mike

I have used Eudora Pro for years now and do not wish to change.

I am looking for a simple and friendly NEWSREADER and I'm currently
using a 30 day trial version of "Forte Agent" to make this post.

Question #1: Can Outlook Express be configured as a newsreader without
incorporating it as an email client?

Question #2: Would someone knowledgeable kindly compare the following
for me please?

"Outlook Express (newsreader)" with "Forte Agent" with "Forte Free
Agent."

Comment: I have tried NewsPro v3.79 and do not find it very
friendly!

All comments are welcome.

Thanks for helping..

IMHO - I tried OE as a news reader and hated it!! Much prefer Free
Agent. But as I said, its only MHO!!

I have used all three. I found Outlook Express very unwieldy as a
newsreader. It was difficult to follow threads, kill threads, etc. I
used Forte Free Agent for a month and was happy with it, but I updated
at the end of the month to Forte Agent because some of the additional
features seemed worth the modest cost. (I can't remember which in
particular I wanted.) I am very happy with Agent, and have been using
it now for over a year. I have a few little items on my wish list, but
nothing important.
