Outlook Express and attachments

Since installing a symantec antivirus devise my outlook
express prevents me from reading attachments sent to me
by friends. Can anyone tell me very simply how to change
this?

Check the Security tab in OE's tools, options and see if there is a check
on the box that states "do not allow attachments to be......." and if there
is, uncheck it.

Double click the McAfee icon (VShield) and select Help/Contents/Using
Quarantine
