For some reason I can't open my email today. I was out
of town over the weekend (my computer was shut down while
I was gone) and my email was working fine thursday but
today it won't open. This is what it says now

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'mail.mchsi.com', Server: 'mail.mchsi.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

any idea what happened? and how I can fix this.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!

I just pinged that mail server and it does appear to be up and running. In
OE, try deleting your email account, close oe, open oe, add email account
back in. Write down the email server names before deleting.

I and many others have had same problem. Try
uninstalling your McAfee Privacy Service. It was the
only thing that helped. Go to mcafeehelp. com. good luck

It is also possible to receive this error message when you have antivirus
e-mail protection enabled on your computer.
