Hi,

I recently moved document and address files off my laptop to an
external hard drive. When exporting messages from OE6 under XP SP2 I
see neither the name nor location of the exported data. Consequently I
am not able to move it. Can anyone tell me the name or location of the
exported messages file(s)?

see if insideoe.com has the information you need (this group is for outlook,
the premier email client included with Microsoft Office)

todays microsoft update has put my express email inside of outlook and it
must have moved my email file location as my inbox/sent and all the rest show
empty.

I am unable to show my email file.

when i try to load my file, it is marked PAB and it does not recognize my
existing files.

Is there some simple step I am missing?

Thank you...

Next time, start your own thread.

No it didn't. What it probably did, however, was to make Outlook the
default mailer. When you ran it, you had your account configured to delete
messages from the server, so Outlook was doing exectly what you had it
configured to do.

Sounds like a new mail profile, or at least a new PST was created in the
process somehow.
I am unable to show my email file.

Tell me what this means to you. What are you doing to "show the email
file"?

Hardly. Outlook doesn't use PAB files to store mail. Never has. PAB files
haven't been used in Outlook for about ten years now.

I suspect all you need to do is to modify your mail profile to include your
old PST (Personal Folders file) and make it the delivery location. However,
since you decided mentioning your Outlok version wasn't important, no one
can tell you how, exactly. See if this helps:
