I have my outlook express on my old hard drive as an external to my new HP
laptop.
I think I've copied the outlook folder on to my desktop but I'm sure. If I
have how do I import the outlook express into vista mail? do I need special
software?

Have you tried:

Menu (ALT if not visible) > File > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook
Express 6 > Import mail from an OE6 directory > Browse

Thanks for answering my post so quickly. When I open the outlook folder I do
not see OE6 directory. There are lots of files in the folder. so you know
all I did was copy the outlook folder fro my old HD to the desktop of my new
computer.
Am I missing a step? Perhaps I don't understand the term OE6 directory?

Please excuse my ignorance!
When I opened the folder I don't see .dbx
this is everything in the folder:

csapi3t1.dll
MSIMN.exe
MSOE.DLL
msoe.txt
OEIMPORT.DLL
OEMIG50.exe
OEMIGLIB.DLL
setup50.exe
WAB.EXE
WABFIND.DLL
WABIMP.DLL
WABMIG.EXE

That's everything in the folder.
Is it different for windows 2000?

Robert
Ps. I really appreciate your help

Do a search for *.dbx. If you do not find anything, then you only copied the
Outlook Express program folder. You need the Outlook Express message store
folder.

Hello again,
Not to burden you with my problem but I still haven't been able to get those
outlook files over to Vista. I have followed your instructions and just can
see the files when I try and load it. You said try menu ALT ( I don't under
stand where the menu is located).

Again I sincerely appreciate your help>

Robert
