outlook expands all groups on its own

Some time over night outlook expands all groups on its own. I am grouped by
date and it is fine after 12 am as I checked to see if the day change was
causing the grief.
Is there any setup to keep the groups collapsed?

if you have it set to be collapsed, it should always be collapsed but there
seem to be some issues around midnight when the group names change. If it
only happens then, does a refresh fix it?
