Outlook.exe hangs on exit

Running Outlook 2003 and when I exit the application Outlook.exe does not
close, I have to use the task manager to close the application. Does not
matter if I click File, Exit and Log Off the program contiues to run. I do
not have Activesync or Palm installed but something keeps the application
open. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you.
