Outlook?exchange in recovery mode

Collin

I have two laptop clients that get a message when they
log into the network. Exchange is currently in recovery
mode you can try to connect or cancel login. I hit
connect and it works fine. I have 40+ other computers
(desktops and laptops) on the network and these are the
only two that get that message.
Thanks

Does it go away if you make a new profile?

Hi Collin,

Thank you for posting here.

According to the information in your post, this behavior only appears on
two clients. Therefore, the issue is mostly related to the Outlook client
problems. I suggest you perform the following steps on the problematic
client to troubleshoot the issue:

Note: I assume you are using Outlook 2003. If you are using other version
of Outlook, the steps will be a little difference.

1. New Outlook profile
=============
Please create a new profile to isolate the issue.
For the steps on how to create a new profile, refer to the following
Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article:

829918 How to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918

2. Outlook Safe Mode
=================
a. Click Start, and then point to Programs.
b. Press CTRL while you click the shortcut for Outlook that you want to
start.
c. Hold down CTRL until you receive a message similar to the following:
"Outlook has detected that you are holding down the CTRL key. Do you want
to start Outlook in safe mode?" Click Yes.

If the issue continues, please configure a proper working Exchange account
on the problematic client and test the issue. Also, test the problematic
account on a proper working client.

In addition, please capture a screen shot of the popup message and upload
to the newsgroup.

Hope this helps! Have a nice day!

Thanks & Regards
Alan Sun
