Hia,
Can anyone sugest why any links no longer work in outlook express? The mouse
turns into the hand as expected on links I have received in e-mails, but the
do nothing. If I copy the link to the address bar in explorer, then it works
ok.

Any help apprecaited.

Cheers

Rod & Pat

Many thanks for your sugestion Wesley, however, the links still do not work
although the reg mon message said it suceeded. It seems to work for e-mail
addresses but will not go to links. If I copy them to the address bar in
Explorer, they work ok

Thanks anyway.

Try the .lnk association repair here:

Hia Wes, many thanks for your help. What I tried first was to reset explorer
to default settings under options/programs. This did the trick, so it seems
you were on the right track.
Much appreciated.

Joe,

Just for your information, .lnk files are Shortcuts, i.e. shortcuts to files
or folders or drives or printers. .url files are Internet Shortcuts, i.e.
shortcuts to web sites.

hyperlink from windows Glossary in Help and Support...
[[Colored and underlined text or a graphic that you click to go to a file, a
location in a file, an HTML page on the World Wide Web, or an HTML page on
an intranet. Hyperlinks can also go to newsgroups and to Gopher, Telnet, and
FTP sites.

In Windows folders, hyperlinks are text links that appear in the folder's
left pane. You can click these links to perform tasks, such as moving or
copying a file, or to go to other places on your computer, such as the My
Documents folder or Control Panel.]]
