Outlook error message Ox80042108

recently moved to Saudi Arabia having problems establishing Outlook using
POP3 for Gmail. Intermittent problems with both receiving and sending but
seem have "receiving" working now but cannot "send". Can access Gmail through
Internet Explorer OK. Error message number is above - server name cannot be
found etc. I have checked and rechecked my account profiles.

Wondering if the local Arab government is playing games with DNS...
 
The common thread I see about all the Outlook problems I have read about
seems to be gmail accounts. Mine is intermittent. If I reinstall outlook it
works then it doesn't. Close windows and reboot and sometimes it starts
woking again. All my at&t accounts work perfectly with no errors reported.
