Outlook enter tasks in main window

I need Outlook tasks to be more flexible (I probably need it to be more of a
project manager, so should be using Project instead). I often juggle 12 to 24
projects and I need a quick view of where I am on any day. I'd like to be
able to enter project names and tasks into the Outlook task main viewing
window (kind of like an Excel screen) without a dialogue box popping up).

Based on the description and screen shots at http://blogs.msdn.com/melissamacbeth/archive/2005/12/20/506047.aspx, it looks like Microsoft is going to deliver those features (and more) in Outlook 12.
