Outlook Emails Dissappearing

I have been saving my emails to an external drive. I do a search fro
within Outlook for each folder and then I click on the first one i
the group and then hit shift and click on the last one in the group.
Then I drag them to a folder on my external drive to save them.
Well while doing this this time it gave me an error of out of memor
and then all the emails dissappeared. My external drive still a
129G left so plenty of space. I think it might have been a progra
error but how do I get them back. I had a lot of important email
that just dissappeared on me
Please let me know if there is an easier way to back up my emails to
external drive. Also does anyone know how I can recover the email
that are missing.

There is a good chance you've lost the emails I'm afraid. Try insalling
Google Desktop if you don't have it (http://desktop.google.com) and search
for a string of text you know was in a missing mail. I'd strongly recommend
you setup a system of copying your entire pst file to your external HDD
instead of dragging emails. A great (free) product for doing this for you
is SyncBack (http://www.2brightsparks.com/).
