Outlook email

Send and recieve doesn't do anything. The messaging interface returns an
unknown error. It says to restart Outlook, but that doesn't do any good. If I
reionstall Ouitlook from the disk, I will lose all my saved emails won't I?
Can I save them somehow in archive and then reinstall outlook? How do I set
the archive date to today? HELP

Dear Teddy,

Reinstalling should not destroy your email. What you should do at this
point is export your email to a safe place right now.

Also, the PST file should be "checked and repaired" as a good
