When I clock on outlook icon, I got this error msg: The instruction at
"0xf49cbce8" referenced memory at "0xf49cbce8". The memory could not be
"read". Clock OK to terminate the program.

How do I check if I have any add-ons to disable them?

Thanks in advance.

Try to start outlook in safe mode

Start | Run | outlook.exe /safe

Thanks, Christian. It worked. But what does safe mode mean? What
difference is it making internally?

It starts Outlook without extensions (add-ins), toolbar customizations, or
reading pane. This is in Outlook's Help, if you want to read it for
yourself. Look for "command line". If Outlook works in safe mode, you
likely have an add-in that's fouling it up or a problem with outcmd.dat.

Thanks also from me for posting this Christian. I have been struggling with
a similar problem. This lets me open Outlook when I could not before. Now,
maybe I have a clue as to what my problem might be.

I just fixed my "Outlook will not open" problem.

I changed the name of the outcmd.dat file to something else.

Now Outlook launches very fast and runs fine.

I struggeled with this about a week.
