outlook delay

I'm running Outlook and Exchange 2000. With one user, some emails are
delayed. The exchange server says that the email has been delivered, but it
doesn't show up in outlook. If you go to a different folder and then back to
the inbox, the email will show up. I've tried this on different computers
with the same user and get the same results. No matter how long you let
outlook sit, the email will never come in, but if you change folders, it will
be there.
