My hard drive failed and I had not backed up my emails for a couple of
weeks. I have re-installed on a new hard drive and I can read the old
hard drive but I don't know how to retreive my Outlook email data.
There is no .pst file anywhere on the failed drive.

Hi Diane

Thanks for the quick reply. I had found that folder but there are only
5 files listed: outcmd; outlook (Office Data File); outlook XML
Document; outlook SRS file and outlprnt. Given I had in excess of 1000
emails in various folders the Office Data File ( a .nk2 file I believe)
is very small - and inaccessable anyway I believe. So is there another
file somewhere?

Thanks,
Tony

the nk2 file is your autocomplete cache. You need to find the pst. Use
advanced search with the option to search hidden files and folders or show
file extensions (Windows Explorer's tools, options, view)

Bingo! Thanks Diane I had done this before and found no .pst files
anywhere on the drive! However for some strange reason the .pst files
showed up this time! Phew! Many thanks for your help! Much appreciated!
Tony
