Outlook data files

I am running Outlook 2002 with XP Home SP2.

If I go to 'file'/ 'data file management' there are four folders.
"archive.pst" is highlighted. There is also an 'extend.dat' file,
'mailbox.pab' as well as "outlook.pst" . OUlook.pst is 654mb. I am pretty
sure that is where my data is located but addresses are not appearing in teh
address book.

Here's the issue: Email is sent through Outlook, with addresses stored
directly in the Address Book (Contacts were never stored). The other day, the
collected email addresses in the address book 'disappeared'. I didn't do
anything that I can recall that would have deleted or moved the entire
grouping of addresses.

My question is how to get my address book back so it shows the names.
(Currently it says it is empty).

Thanks

Tools, Address Book, click the drop down arrow in the 'Show names from the:'
drop down box and select the address book that contains your addresses.

David,

Thanks for the quick reply. All of the address books in the drop down list
are blank.

file."Archive.pst" is the default. How do I change that?

You need to install the Outlook Address Book service. Control Panel->Mail
Icon->Email Accounts->Directories->Add. Close and restart Outlook.
