Outlook Contacts gone into dissarray

I had a no. of subfolders in contacts in addition to the main folder called
Contacts. Now for some reason these do no longer appear as subfolders but as
folders in their own right but the most alarming thing is these have all
found their way into the Deleted Items folder apart from contacts.

When I attempt to move them back to the Contacts main folder it puts the
same subfolder with a no. at the end back into the Deleted Items bin

Have I got a virus?

Okay....This has moved on a bit. I've moved my data into new subfolders
within a main Contacts folder and deleted the old subfolders (wish I could
see this from the 'all mail folders' view on the left but it no longer lets
me do this I have to go into Contacts to view the list of subfolders). The
problem is that it will not let me delete the original subfolder called
Contacts and just to add confusion I have named one of the new subfolders
Contacts (so this one has data the former is empty)

Now the crucial thing is that I synch Outlook on my desktop with a Palm pda.
I am concerned that all these different Contacts folders will confuse the
synch software. Would I be better just abandoning sub folders altogether and
putting all my data into the default Contacts folder and separating them
under categories?

The dismaying thing is that I have been using Outlook subfolders and the pda
for nearly 4 yrs now without any problem (

Again, with no information on how you created the problem or what you need
to do, your question cannot be answered. You can never delete a default
folder. You can create and delete subfolders to your heart's content. Most
synch software will only sync with the default Folder. A comparison of

Thanks for the URL. I don't know what I did to cause this problem in the
first place.....just a user you see!

I have decided to dispense with putting any data in the default contacts
folder & just work from the subfolders. Must admit Outlook is great when it
behaves but when it lets go you got DRAMA coz if you like me you tend to
overely on it to organise yourself

Just realize that data in the subfolders likely will not synch with your
PDA.
