Outlook MVP says I have to post this question here, not under Outlook:

I don't understand Outlook Contacts Dialing Properties>Edit etc. Any
helpfile etc available anywhere?

From UK, I want to dial from Outlook Contacts, putting prefix 18185 before
international, 0845, 0870 and calls to mobiles; otherwise prefix 1899.

Also, my antivirus tries to block every call - till I tell it to allow all
calls to this individual no.

All advice gratefully received. XP Dialer help says nothing about dialing
from Outlook Contacts.

I'd have crossposted to both, personally (both in a single message).

Do you have locations set up in Windows in control panel | phone and modem
options?

That's something you may need to take up with the AV softtware manufacturer.

Yes, in Dialing Rules>My Location, my UK Area Code is entered. I click Edit,
and there I can't see how to put prefix 1899 before all numbers by default,
except 18185 before international calls, before 0845 and 0870 numbers and
before calls to mobiles.

Also, voice quality is very poor. It's a low-cost V92 PCI internal Voice
Faxmodem. Its phone lead and the handset's lead both plug into a 2-way, which
plugs into the phone port on the broadband filter, which plugs into the phone
line socket (wall outlet).

Yes, in Dialing Rules>My Location, my UK Area Code is entered. Then,
clicking Edit, I can't see how to create rules to prefix all calls with 1899
by default, except 18185 for international calls, calls to mobiles and calls
to 0845 and 0870 numbers. Can't use wildcard *, it seems. Also, voice quality
