Wishful thinking... I wish that Outlook "Contacts" would allow me to:
1. Post unlimited individual "time & date" stamped notes for each contact.
2. Add more than one name to "front" of the Contact record, i.e. these days
with so many spouse's with different names, it's important to have both names
spelled correctly and be viewed simultaneously. Check out Yahoo Contacts.
You add one name and save, then you can add a second, or a third... so that
you can view them without having to actually go into the record.
3. Have a Nickname Comment field that shows under the name. That way if I
have an important note like "Don't Call" or "Don't Call till After 3:00 PM",
I can see that without actually having to go into the record.
4. Be relationship oriented so you could link records to Companies or other
Contacts and view accordingly. Check out REA9 at gorea.com. They've got
this feature down.
5. Print out a quick Contact Lead Sheet that will give you User Defined
Biographical Data plus print User-Defined Notes chosen by date ranges. This
makes it possible for a Salesperson to quickly print a Contact sheet that
quickly gives him all his contact's names, addresses, phone numbers, email
addresses, relationship links (if User requested) and notes history
(date-range generated or "ALL") so one is armed to go out into the field in a
moment's notice and make the sale, close the contract, provide Great Customer
Service. It simply arms the sales rep for SUCCESSS! It should take 10
seconds or less to get this report. Contact Plus has had this down for at
least 15 years! Please check them out. Although their technology is dated,
years ago, I used them and really appreciated their simplicity and how fast a
sales person could get things done.
6. Allow print tagging of Contacts for quick reports. Again see Contact's
Plus! Plus, they have a very cool records to column's feature that's great
when your telemarketing, or verifying records!
7. Allow a Detailed Card View sorted by Categories.
Final thoughts: It seems that Contact Manager have migrated to Customer
Relationship Managers with the emphasis being on management managing and
montitoring the sales rep versus fast tools for the sales rep to manage their
Clients. Offer both and you'll have the elucive "KILLER APPLICATION!"
Thank-you for taking the time to consider my thoughts!
