Outlook Connector for Lotus Domino: Terminal Server environment

It is possible to access Lotus Domino mailbox using Outlook along with
Outlook Domino Connector. Domino Connector requires that Lotus Notes client
be installed and configured correctly on the workstation in order to access
its setttings. It works well in a single-user environment where all Lotus
Notes client settings are stored in the single INI file.

In a terminal server environment, Lotus Notes client requires an additional
tuning to keep personal profiles for each user. In particular it requires
specific INI file for each user. Those files are stored in user directories,
not in Lotus directory, so Domino Connector cannot find them.

The question itself: are there any ways to specify where Lotus Domino
Connector must search for Lotus Notes INI file? Is it possible to set the
Outlook Lotus profile manually by, say, registry hacking?

I am not sure if this answers your question but we have notes running on
terminal server for multiple users and we have this functioning correctly.

Does the notes domino connect rely on any environmental variables that you
can set in windows?

Anyway, not sure if this helps..but I do know of one company called IPM
(tell them Sam sent u) who is excellent with this type of integration work.
We hired them and they a ton of stuff. I think if it is possible then they
could do it for you.
Thx,
Sam

Sam,

thank you for the answer.

We use localized (Russian) version of Notes. It seems that all Notes bugs we
encounter are related to this fact. Unfortunately we cannot switch to English
version because many our employees simply do not understand English interface.

I don't know. Outlook connector docs do not describe them. Multiple profiles
support is mentioned but there are nothing more on this topic.

Our version of Notes client requires only a path to user INI file specified
in the command line after '=' sign. When starting it from Windows (or
publishing it with Metaframe) we can use %username% environment variable. But
I don't knot how to pass this path to Outlook Connector for Domino.

Sorry, we have no budget nor opportunity to hire a foreign company.

It is known that IBM has their own piece of software which allows Outlook to
work with Domino severs. Unfortunately it requires Domino server 6.5.1 and
higher, while we have Domino 6.0.13. We plan to upgrade the server but it wll
require some time and money...
