We've got a customer that has a small workgroup of Win XP computers all
using individual POP email accounts. They all use MS Office and Outlook.
Recently, one (Dell) lost its hard disk and with it the customer's email and
contacts info. They all use one computer for a "host" to keep the data files
in a shared directory that is backed-up nightly, but this doesn't protect
their email. They're not (financially) ready to move up to a dedicated
server with Exchange yet, so I'm thinking we could do a weekly PST file
export for each user and store them on the "host" in separate user folders
(that could be backed-up). That way, if there's another crash, they could
recover most of their email and contact info.
My question is, is there a way to do an Outlook export function from the
command line so this process could be automated somewhat by, say, the Task
Scheduler? That way, each user wouldn't have to remember to export thier PST
file each week.
Thank you for your help.
