Outlook Closing when I open it.

Hi,

I am having a problem with Outlook. I have Office 2000 and Windows XP.

I noticed that this error started coming up when after I downloaded the
Outlook updates from the Microsoft website. This is the first time I get this
error and I've had this version for years. I think it's time to update it to
Office 2003 :)

Anyhow, when I open Outlook I get the Microsoft Outlook error window that
says:

“Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.â€

Then I click to see what the error contains and it says:

“Error Signature. AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 9.0.06604 ModName: omint.dll
ModVer: 5.5.3186.0 OffSet 006f33dâ€

Then there is this other window that pops up that has all the technical info
about the error. Like Module numbers, etc.

I have uninstalled Microsoft Office twice and Installed it again and I
still get the same problem.

How do I get rid of this error? I tried looking for help on the website
with no luck. Hope someone has an idea of how to fix this. Thank you.

Sue

This is probably a long shot but have you tried doing a repair install
instead of a full reinstall? You can run Detect and Repair from the Help
menu of any installed Office product -- try Word if you can't get Outlook to
stay open. Have your Office installation CD handy.
