Outlook caused error in Outllib.dll

Hello:

Kind of concerned. All my contacts/settings may be at risk. Running
Outlook 98 w Internet cable connection. Just today receiving notice when I
try to open Outlook - "Outlook has caused an error in Outllib.dll and will
now close. If you continue to have problems try re-starting ...".

I have tried that - as well as going back in time via System Restore - to no
avail. Also tried re-installing Outlook 98 (on top of current installation
to preserve contacts, etc.) but still get this notice and cannot get in to
98. Only thing unusual that comes to mind - is I clicked on adding to my
calander - a particular item on E-Bay - and that automatically put a
reminder on my Outlook 98 calandar . Suggestions / help towards correcting
this most appreciated. Thinking of un-installing and then re-installing but
afraid will lose a lot of info. Outlook Express still works.

I did exactly the same thing yesterday, but I didn't remember about th
Ebay calendar notice until you mentioned it. I have Windows ME, IE
and Outlook 98 over a cable modem. My message says something lik
"Outlook has caused an error in outllib.dll and will now close." but i
takes a few seconds before the message displays during which time I a
able to use Outlook until the message pops up and it locks out my mous
(funny though, when I started a send and receive before the messag
box, the send and receive continued and completed AFTER the message bo
popped up. ......as I was writing this I just went in to the calenda
and deleted the Ebay appointment and that seems to have done the trick
THANK YOU for reminding me of the calendar thing from Ebay. You solve
your problem and mine!!!! YEA!!!!! Try it for yourself..I hope it work
for you
