Outlook Beta Version Problems with Moving Messages into Folders

Hello. After I loaded the Outlook Beta on my computer, I am having major
problems moving most of my prior Outlook 2003 messages into existing folders.
I am getting an error message that reads as follows:

"Cannot move the items. Could not complete the move. The items may have
already been moved or deleted."

The message is odd because the e-mail messages and folders all exist and
none were deleted or moved prior to loading the Beta version. Some of the
message I could move from the inbox into my other folders, but for the most
part I couldn't move most of them.

Any solutions or is this something inherent to the Beta version? Should I
switch back to 2003?

Are you working with IMAP?
I'd try creating a new profile via Control Panel, Mail. Add your email
accounts to it and your existing PST files (except any IMAP ones).

Patrick,

Thank you for your prompt response, yes, I am working from an IMAP. My
laptop is connected to a lan that uses MS 2003. I am the only one using the
Beta version. Will this work?

Hi Rich,

Yes, but you need a profile. IMAP messages are cached locally in a PST
file. 2003 and earlier versions use an ANSI PST for IMAP messages while
2007 uses a Unicode pst. If you create a new profile and add your IMAP
account to it, Outlook will automatically create a Unicode PST. The only
inconvenience for you is that Outlook will have to download all your
messages again from the server into the local cache copy. That simply
will take a bit of time.
