outlook autocomplete for email dresses seems to have stopped working

usually when I start typing an email address in the "to" section
Outlook will autocomplete it if I used it before, it doesn't do it
now, did I somehow unclick something to turn it off? What causes it to
stop functioning?

Look and see: Tool > Options > Preferences > Email Options... > Advanced
Email options... is "Suggest Names..." checked?

Where is that list? I would like to print it out and delete some of them.

You can't print it without third party software.

I have the same problem myself with Vista. I have looked through all the
responses and attempted to do what Russ Valentine said but, after going to
tool/options, I have no preference tab. When I go to advanced email options,
there is not a place to click "suggest names" or "autocomplete." What am I
missing?

With Outlook 2003, we had the issue that Outlook just stopped saving names to
the auto-complete list. The auto-complete list is saved in an .nk2 file and
has a limit of 1,000 email addresses. The user had not reached the limit,
only about 600 names. Outlook was cache new email addresses for that day
only and when the user reboot, all new entries were lost and the time stamp
of the .nk2 file was not changing. We used Ingressor software and it found
no issues witht he .nk2 file. We also moved the .nk2 file to other machines
and it worked fine. What we finally discovered was that it was a memory
issue. The user had many (over 100) PST files opened on his tree. After
closing about half of them, the .nk2 file began to update again. Hope this
information helps.

It certainly does, especially if there is ever one other person on this
planet who tries to open 100 PST files in a single profile. Not sure there
will be. Einsteins aren't just born every day.
