Outlook Auto-Preview

In the past with Outlook2000 set to "Auto-Preview" an
unread message showed three lines of the body of the text
in the InBox. After I opened the message and retured to
the InBox, it did not display the three lines of text, but
only the sender, subject, date. It still displays three
lines of text as auto-preview. However after opening up
the message, then closing it, the InBox still shows three
lines of text. What happened?

ie., what I want is unread messages to show three lines of
text, read measages to display only header.

Thanks,
SKK

As far as I know, AutoPreview always shows the first three lines of a
message, whether read or not.

That's a setting that can be adjusted in the properties of the view.
