outlook auto complete

I am using outlook 2000 on XP 5.1 Home Ed.I have checked the Auto name
checing box in advanced settings but it will still not complete the address.

Outlook doesn't do auto-complete. It has a feature called auto-resolution.
If you enter part of a name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit
Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your
address book. If it can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on
the name to manually resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future
use.

Outlook 2000 does not have the AutoComplete feature. The setting you
describe is for AutoSuggest. Type part of an address, then press CTRL-K.
It will search your address book for entries containing that string.

'CTRL+K' forces a check of the name. It should bring up a list of name
if more than one matches
