Outlook and Word

I use Word (Office XP) as my editor in Outlook for e-mail. Lately I have found that a new message defaults to "yellow" text on white background in the body of the message so it cannot be seen until I change it. The address and subject lines are as they should be (black on white background). I cannot find the way to set the default text color to automatic or black. Any suggestions?

In Word, change the text color under Format->Font.

Thanks, Milly. When I open Word, the default is black. When I open a "New
Message" in Outlook, the default color is yellow. If this occurred in Word,
I would delete the normal.dot file and then relaunch word but in Outlook,
with Word as the default editor, I cannot resolve this. I must change the
font, color to automatic or something each time I wish to sent a new
message. If I am replying to a message, the color for the original message
is used.
