I just updated my office and now when I try to use word
as my email editor I receive the following error:

You Outlook and Word versions do not match. You will
need to update your Outlook to the same version as Word.

Both Outlook and Word are 2002 SP3. The only difference
I see is the number in the (). What is that number and
how do I update outlook to match word? Or, do I just
upgrade to 2003??

Thanks for your help in advance - much appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same problem except that I don't get any error
messages. When I click "new" to create a new message, it takes some time,
with "Using Word as Editor" or some thing similar being displayed when it
used to be almost instantaneous for the new screen to be launch. When I
click to "reply" to a message, it just hangs.

I'm using Windows XP SP-1; Office XP SP-3. (that means Word2002 SP-3 and
Outlook2002 SP-3 so there should be no compatibility issue, at least they
used to be.) The only new thing that I've done to my system is that I
installed Norton Antivirus 2004 recently. Any ideas before I try the
re-install/fix etc.? Thanks.
