When I launch MS Outlook and Word 2003 opens right after it.
This did not happened before and I'm not sure how to fix it. I only want
Word 2003 to open when I click on "New Email"

Please Help!!!!

Thanks,

You can't have it both ways. Either deselect Word as your email editor & use
Outlook's editor or live with Word coming up for new mail.

That's a Poor answer for my question. I should have mentioned I use MS
Office 2003 and in Outlook 2003 the default is "Word as the Email Editor" and
when you OPEN Outlook 2003 Word does not OPEN right after. If you dont have
positive answers to questions then please don't reply.

Word opens in the background when Outlook is started if Word is the email
editor. Check it in the processes tab of Task Manager if you don't believe
it. That's the way it is and the only way to avoid that is to not use
WordMail.

At least read what people post before responding.

I just tried this. While what you say may be true (WINWORD.EXE didn't
appear for me until I actually clicked New>Message, but then it stayed
around after that until Outlook closed). In no case, however, did a Word
window appear until after I clicked New>Message. So, why does a Word window
appear for the OP when Outlook starts?

I'm afraid you're not correct. Outlook 2003 does open Windword.exe process
when it is launched, however, that process stays in the background until the
"New Email" button is pressed. Word is not supposed to open immediately
after I open Outlook. It was not happening before and it is not the default
behavior.

Does Anyone have a Sugestion as to why this is happening?

Thanks,

No visible window should appear from Word but unless something is odd, at
least for Outlook 2003, when you open Outlook with WordMail enabled a window
named OpusApp is opened in the background and can be seen using Spy++.
Closing Outlook should release that window and Word.

Are you saying you get a visible Word window when Outlook is opened? Before
you open any emails?

That I've never seen and it certainly is not normal behavior.

Thta's correct a Visible Word Windows opens right after I launched Outlook,
and it happens way before I click "New Email"

Any Suggestions?

Only shots in the dark.

Delete Normal.dot when both Word and Outlook are closed.

Run the Detect and Repair function from the Outlook Help menu.

That's about it.
