Outlook Address Books

Dear All,
First of all apologies if this is not the correct group for this question.
Is it possible to arrange the entries in an address list such as "All Groups"
in something other than alphabetic order. What we would like to do is have
entries in alphabetic order except for a few special ones that should come at
the start of the list. I know I can create distribution groups with display
names that start with a space but that is not ideal since it means people
would have to type the leading space to find them - there might be more than
one page on them. I did notice in another post someone talking about GAL
sorting and I wondered if there was a way to do it.

Thanks for any suggestions

Best wishes....

If you're talking Exchange, I start all my Distribution Lists with
DL:dlgroupnamegoeshere. For example, my production group is called
DL:production and everyone is called DL:companynamegoeshere. You could
alternatively start your Distribution List names with an asterisk (*) which
would place them at the beginning of the GAL.
Just as one suggestion.

Dear Kathleen,

Thanks for the info. I'll give the asterisk a go as I think it might look
okay.

Best wishes....
Colin
