Outlook access via VPN.

Hello
I have a customer who is trying to access his exchange server via his
outlook client whilst sat at home on the VPN. However it will not
connect and just sits offline.
Any ideas?

Have they tried using Outlook Web Access as opposed to direct connecting?

are you sure the vpn is working? can they ping the exchange server, can they
access other network resources over the vpn?

The user does not want to use the OWA although it does work for other
users who wish to use this.

the VPN is working. the user can access all other network resources
including files, intranet access. He can even access a unix box that
they have on the LAN.
