Outlook 98 and Hotmail

R

RHinNC

For some strange reason I can no longer send e-mails to myself from Outlook
98 to my hotmail account.

I can send messages fine from Yahoo, Excite,MyWay,AOL etc. just fine.

I am on Road Runner and contacting them we can find no problem. They could
not offer support for Outlook, only Outlook Express. BTW, I have OL 98 IMO.

When I try to send a e-mail from Outlook Express (v6) the same thing
happens, no e-mail to my hotmail account.

I do not get an error, and the test messages are in my sent folder in
Outlook.

Any help is appreciated!

Have you contacted Hotmail to see if they can assist you?

No I do not have a filter. I actually have added the my road runner address
to the "safe list" in hotmail.

Thanks

Thanks Milly,

I have sent a couple of e-mail to Hotmail support. I received one reply, but
they said to check my ISP. There is nothing wrong with my ISP, at least as
far as we can tell.

Support from hotmail is fairly thin as I am finding out.

I tend to think there is something blocking my address, but I have added my
e-mail address and domain name to the hotmail "safe list" and they still
wont go through.

I get plenty of other mail to my hotmail account just not from my outlook.
Weird.

Thanks for the response..

Can you send to anyone at hotmail? This would rule out a problem with RR on
a hotmail RBL... you can send a message to (e-mail address removed) and we'll
find out.

I just sent you an e-mail to the hotmail address you indicated.

Thanks for your help and hope you get it.

At least that would narrow it down to my installation of Outlook 98.

Nope... no message. I really think it's between RR and hotmail. send one to
my posting address and I'll see if I can learn anything from the SMTP ip
your messages are sent through.

Hi Diane,

Well I checked my account settings in Outlook 98. When I changed my e-mail
address from my road runner address to my hotmail address it worked! I left
the reply to address as my hotmail address. Confusing eh?

Anyway I appreciate you help with all this.
