Outlook 97 can't import from Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values file

I saved my calendar event lists from another calendar
program into a csv format, but when I try to import these
lists into Outlook 97 calendar, when I get to the part
where it should map custom fields, that button is grayed
out. The only active button it "change destination."
This also happens from data separated by commas in a txt
file.
About 3 weeks ago, I was able to import some lists into
Outlook 97 on another computer, so we installed Outlook 97
onto my computer but now I cannot get it to work on either
computer.
