Outlook 2007 won't send or receive

We are running XP with Outlook 2007 with Business contact manager. Outlook
will not send or receive. It appears to be "preparing to send or receive"
but does neither.
 
Surely there's some sort of error message associated with this. Please
include the message in its entirety.

Is this an Exchange environment?
 
No error message.....it will "prepare to send and receive" forever if you
don't cancel.

POP 3. no Exchange

I think the issue may have to do with Business Contact Manager.
 
What makes you think its BCM, have you just installed this & it was ok
before?
Have you run Office Diagnostics?
 
BCM was shut down when the problem began occurring. I had them shut
everything down, start it up again with BCM and it is now working ok....so
far.

I am running diagnostics now.
