Outlook 2007 SP2 and Windows 7 - Cannot open file: extend.dat

Bob Benoit

I get this error when opening Outlook 2007 SP2 on my newly formated Windows 7
Computer. I can open another profile (local admin) on the machine and it
works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Office and it is no help. I try
to go to C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook, but it says
the outlook folder is not accessable. "The file or directory is corrupted and
unreadable".

Any ideas?

Renaming the outlook folder itself and running outlook seems to have done the
trick.
