Outlook 2007 Slow

I have a user with over 35,000 emails that total over 4 gigs in size. The
user is connected to an Exchange 2007 server. Opening emails seems to take
forever. Is there a limit to how many emails a user should have?
 
Apply Service Pack 2 for Office 2007; it contains a major performance
optimization for Outlook.
