Outlook 2007 Restoring files from a backup

I cannot restore my backed up Outllok 2007 files. I have Vista, I did a
system backup and reinstalled Vista. All my files are fine except for
Outlook. When I try to open from the Data File Management, I get an error
that I have a Dialogue box open, please close it and try again. When I try
to import it or go to File>Open> Data File, I get an error that says it is
not a personal folder file. It is a .pst.

Any help????

That should have been fixed when you have all the latest Office 2007 updates
installed.
When I try
to import it or go to File>Open> Data File, I get an error that says it is
not a personal folder file.
Make sure you have placed the pst-file on a location to which you have
read/write access.
Don't use the import feature but open it directly.

Additionally, you might want to scan your pst-file for errors with
scanpst.exe.
