Outlook 2007 Receipts

Im always ask for a receipt when I send an e-mail.
I then receive SEVEN receipts for each e-mail.
Why is this happening and how can I ensure that each e-mail is only
acknowledged with ONE receipt?

Outlook 2007

a) What kind of mail server?
b) What kind of receipt (delivery vs. read)?
c) If an exchange server, is this an internal user or an external?

Generally speaking, you may not have any way to control this. The sending
of the receipts is handled by the mail client/server of the recipient. Now,
with the above questions answered, there are some things that you can check
to make sure that it is Outlook that's causing the problem and not the person
you're mailing.

Thank you for your reply.
I am just sending e-mails in the same way as I used to, with Outlook Express
- using POP on a home PC but with Outlook 2007.
Receipt of confirmation of delivery is intermittent although Outlook is set
to request it - It is "Read" receipts that are received seven at a time.
I receive seven "Read" receipts for each e-mail for which a "Read receipt is
sent to me.

Do you have the ability to check email for that POP account via a web based
reader?

If you are, try sending a message with a read receipt and exiting out of
Outlook and verify that you see seven messages in the web based reader.

Also, is the web based reader able to do a read receipt?
