Outlook 2007 missing from Office 2007

I've been using the Office 2007 beta version. Was told to uninstall it this
morning, which I did. I've downloaded and installed the trial version of
Office 2007 Professional. Word and Excel working fine. No sign of Outlook
2007.

Where do I go from here?

To add to the question:

I downloaded the Test version of Office 2007 from the MS online site, and
had to download two files X12-30196 and X13-11296. I saved them on my hard
disk and then installed from X12-30196, which seemed to go OK. I then turned
to X13-11296 and, after unzipping etc, I got the message:

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 - Business Contact Manager System Installer
(can't always read my writing): that said "Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 must
be installed before you can install Microsoft Outlook 2007 with Business
Contact Manager. Install Outlook from CD1 and then start the installation
again"

I have no CD1, since I downloaded from the MS site. I tried reinstalling the
files from X12-30196 and nothing seems to have changed.

I am in the same "boat" as Louis T.
I just removed the 2007 Beta version last night, and installed the new Trial.
The OUTLOOK 2007 portion shows a red "X".
HELP!!!
What to do now?

Try this: Rerun setup and choose the option to customize.

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs (or the Vista equivalent), select Office 2007, and click Change.

I have already done that. When I clik on the Outlook option and it shows a
icon like a drive with a read cross on it. I have tried to clik on it but
nothing happened. It seems that the download did not contain the Outlook
application.

I am trying to download a new file and install it over the old one. Do you
think that might work? Are ther any other suggestions?

Thanks,

ricardo

Did you go into the dialog that lets you choose the individual features to install for each program? Also, any previous version of Outlook needs to be removed completely.

There's no need to download again. You already have the full Office product.

SUE:
I did not separate remove MICRSOFT OUTLOOk -- because there was "nothing" to
remove. I DID locate a separate OUTLOOK 2007 Trial download @ Microsoft,
which I attempted to install; however, it brings up the OFFICE PROGRAM again,
with the OUTLOOK program RED-"X"'d another time.
Frustrating.

Any version of Outlook from a previous version of Office needs to be completely removed. See if this article helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930559/. It's about the trial version, but the steps should be the same for the release version.

Your suggestion may very well be the solution!
QUESTION: How can I be assured that my data (email, contacts, etc) are
preserved in the new version?

S

Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]

Changing Outlook versions doesn't touch your data.

SUE:
I wanted to confirm this just a bit further.
I formerly was using OFFICE 2007 BETA (not the updated one, the original one
from back in August 2006).
I deleted that yesterday to install the "completed" Trial Version.
In so doing, the OFFICE programs were removed, and OUTLOOK 2007 as well
(except that it appears it was not removed entirely, or the new Trial Version
would have installed).
If I follow the procedures you suggest in ARTICLE ID 930559, will my DATA
still be preserved?
Thank you.

Answered earlieer. Make a backup copy of your .pst file if you're worried.

Sue,

When I removed completely my Office 2003 the option for installing the
Outlook 2007 appered at the Setup window! I was finally able to install it!

Thank you very much for your help. I am amazed how globalization and
internet made this world small. I am in São Paulo, Brazil, writing to you, I
guess in Seattle, solving a problem on a trial I got from an American site.

Sincerely,

Ricardo Ekerman

Sue:
FYI .... I finally figured out how to install Outlook 2007:
I went to ADD-REMOVE PROGRAMS
to CHANGE
to ADD REMOVE FEATURES
then, in the drop down for OUTLOOK there was one icon that had the number
"1" on it, with the text "Start on First Installation" (or something like; I
can't recall now, and that text is no longer there). The important thing, is
that it was the ONE icon that was CLICKABLE, that did not have a red "X"
through it.
It worked.
(and all my data was there!!! [thank you!] )
