Outlook 2007 has stopped auto send/receive

I have been using Outlook 2007 for about nine months now and like its earlier
versions it does a send/receive on opening and periodically afterwards.
Without any intervention from me it has stopped doing this although it will
still do a manual send/receive. I have looked into the Define Send/Receive
Groups tab and all the settings seem okay.
I have also attempted to follow the instructions in Microsoft Help and
Support article 312336 "e-mail messages are not automatically sent or
received at start up in Outlook" but nothing has changed after following the
instructions.
I would appreciate some help with this.

This is controlled by automatic mail polling settings. Tools, options, Mail
Setup, Send Receive button, select "schedule a send-receive every 10 minutes"
or more than 10--never less or it will not work correctly. If you have
changed the auto polling to less than 10 minutes, it might work sometimes,
but eventually will fail. Note that the location of the Send-receive
button/auto polling setting might be slightly different in 2007. If you
cannot find it, check Help.

I am having a similar problem. I have my MSN email hooked up Outlook 2007. So this is HTTP email, not POP3. Not only does auto send/receive not work, I have to click on another INBOX and then click back to my MSN INBOX to get messages to update. The send/receive button does nothing, nada, squat. Does anyone have any help for this?
