Hi there,

It seem my Outlook 2007 hang when i change my language from english to
chinese when writing an email with it.

This does not happen when I use Outlook 2003.

I have install office 2007 service pack 1 and even upgrade to Window
Service Pack 3 for Window XP but the problem still occured.

Any idea for the problem describe?

Please help. Thanks

When you say "change my language" - how do you do that? Change the IME
language, or something in Outlook?

What sort of encoding do you use for the outgoing message?

What message type (HTML, RTF) do you use for the outgoing message?

What font do you use for the outgoing message?

Finally, do you use the Outlook editor or Word?

Just change the language setting at the language bar on the task bar
below as
I set for 2 language to be used. English(United States) and
Chinese(PRC)

The language was created in the Regional and Language Options

I am using RTF to send outgoing message. Does this impact on which
type of message use?

For font, I am using Arial size 10.

No, just normal replying mail with chinese words.

Besides that, I also found out that if I open more than 10 message for
my inbox and reply mail
the outlook straight come out error message and ask for restart
outlook.

Does this normal for Outlook 2007?

I do not use Outlook 2007, so I cannot say if anything is "normal" in there.

When you say Chinese (PRC), I assume you mean Chinese Simplified. Try
to specify the corresponding encoding to the outgoing message (Format ->
Encoding -> Chinese Simplified (GB18030) or (GB2312). This will make
sure that the message arrives properly encoded at its destination.

Try HTML instead of RTF; RTF is a really old concept and is only
compatible with Microsoft mail clients.

Try to use Chinese fonts instead of Arial. When installing Asian
language support from Regional and Language Options, you have also
installed a number of Chinese fonts; use one of these.

Report back if this makes any improvement.

Have done all the changes accordingly but it seem,
the problem is still there.

The language setting cannot even be change when i set it as chinese
simplified when I
want to reply a mail and was hang there.
After a while the microsoft message box come out and ask a report to
be send
and the outlook is restarted.

The mail can be reply in Chinese fonts only when I open a mail where
as if I open
more than 7-8 mail and reply to 1 of the mail, the problem occured.

Do you happen to run Outlook 2007 on Vista SP1? I heard that this can
cause similar hangs.

Sorry, I have no more ideas. Just one last question: did this always
happen, or did it start "suddenly" at some time? If so, what happened
at that time - some software or service pack installation?

This happen only after recent upgrade from outlook 2003 to outlook
2007.
Before that, using outlook 2003 all works fine.
I think will downgrade the version.
Thanks for your advice and time.
