outlook 2007, fully delete email?

When I delete an email in outlook 2007, the program just puts a strike
through the email subject and calls it a day (See here:

When I check my webmail the message still exists. How can I hit delete
and fully get rid of an email?

you need to purge it - look on the edit menu.
