Outlook 2007 Favorite Folders always open with Default contents

I just upgraded to Vista and Office 2007 and now find I can not keep favorite
mail folders in the Favorites pane. I can drag/drop them there or
right-click and set as a Favorite, and it works UNTIL I restart the computer
and then everything goes back to the default contents.

The Outlook.pst was Imported from my XP Office 2003 configuration.

I see in an old (Dec06) post that "bad xml file" was indicated as a possible
cause, but I can find no such file despite extensive looking.

Any ideas of how to get things working properly?

Thanks in advance.

Check task manager when you close outlook - make sure it closes completely
and always close it before closing windows.

It is the xml not getting saved - try closing outlook, checking in task
manager and then reopening it - once you do this, the changes should stick
even if it doesn't close correctly another time. See
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup2007.asp for a list of file locations
on vista.

THANKS! That was it. Apparently when you shut down the computer with
Outlook running (which is what I normally do) it must not properly close out
OUtlook.

By setting up my Favorites, closing Outlook, and then waiting until the
background instance of Outlook stopped running (Task
Manager>Processes>OUTLOOK.EXE) before restarting (Outlook) all is well.
