Outlook 2007 Doesn't Empty Deleted Items On Exit

I have upgraded from Outlook 2003 to 2007 Beta 3. I have noticed that
the Deleted Items folder no longer gets emptied when I close Outlook
even though the option is set. I have tried changing the options and
restarting Outlook, but no matter what I try Outlook closes without
emptying the Deleted Items folder.

Any advice gratefully received.

I worked it out in the end.

I had installed services for Exchange and the Exchange datafile had
become my default datafile, but mail deleted in my personal folders was
not deleted automatically.

I found this out when I removed the Exchange and then noticed that my
deleted items folder was emptied when I closed Outlook.
