Outlook 2007 and Salesforce.com

Hello has anyone had issues with these two applications? I am trying to synch sfdc with Outlook Contacts and it is not a simple process. It seems we cannot synch the Outlook contact field "Categories" as is conflicts with Salesforce.com. They use that field in their contacts field lists and keep it for themselves. So I created a new field in my OUtlook contact form and it still is not synching.
SFDC has tried to help me but still I have the issue.
Help.
